Gadgets? are your mother's right?

As the time continues to fly, we await for what the future holds for us. Is it cherish? Or is it Despair? Remorseful? Or Ecstatic life. Future is just merely a software update for the blue planet. We are the bugs, that are supposed to be fixed, but there is no guarantee our descendants will be any better. It may sound cliché and hectic, but it is true. Be honest, you have felt it, you know it. The upcoming gadgets have invaded the minds of the millennials, hijacked the authenticity of the human brain. Let me be blunt. The youth is simply throwing their lives down a long and winding pipeline which leads to nothing but an empty space somewhere in this prodigious yet opportunistic world we live in.        If we were to put aside the priorities of less importance, such as homework for example, or eating healthily, or even taking an interest in what happens in the real world, we are left with the most essential decisions a teenager may have to make. What to wear, who to s...

Poverty is Rife

Poverty is not the absence of wealth. Rather, it is a state of mind, an attitude to society, a set of assumptions about what you can achieve. A choice.  Poverty is arguably the most complicated social and economic dynamic of our time. It is rather useless to say that at one stage, all people were poor except for those very few individuals benefitted by a feudal system. It makes far more sense to approach poverty as a manifestation of the boundary between communities that have advanced on the development trajectory, as opposed to communities that have either just started that process, or that have been left behind while their peers grow in prosperity. Poverty does not cease to exist, rather they multiply at an unworldly pace comparatively to the prosperous ones. Why? Are communities poor because they proliferate so fast or do they proliferate because they are poor? Is it our persistency to grow that robs us from prosperity or is it the lack of control over the limited resources tha...

Lack of Vitality

On this blue world, the word depression has become quite common amongst the tongue of mostly teenagers. Its not that they are sad, but mentaly and spiritually exhausted from this world. Depression is not the same as sadness. It's difficult to explain it to someone who hasnt been there. Sadness is to cry, to feel. But it's that cold absense of feeling, that really hollowed-out feeling that eats you from within.  In our society, mental health is not taken seriously at all. They think of it as "over dramatic" or "attention seeking tactic" without knowing what the person is actually going through, while the person can just smile back at them. In this society, they will never understand, they will just tell you "Cheer up, theres nothing to worry about". I want to yell, "Oh hey, depression's gone!". It is not something you can quickly recover from, like a cold or a stomach ache. The hollow feeling, slowly but surely leads the person to its...

This World

Gone are the days when humans were bound by the chains of deprivation. Gone are the days, when the word of mouth spread slowly, but surely. Gone are the days when the sun shone peacefully upon us. The tides have changed. Say hello to the so-called brave new world. The one where screams of children echo in the wind. Where Racism...no, gender inequality, Caste-based discrimination, Class-based discrimination, and many more, are looked down upon. I am Muhammad Sanan, an 11th grader, a devil's advocate. I will act as the voice for the voiceless, show you the reality of this world, both, the dark and the beautiful side of the world.
